(Cuyahoga County) - Eight people, including two children, are hospitalized after an apartment fire in Lakewood.
The blaze started early this morning on Arliss Drive. Four victims were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for smoke-related injuries and four others were taken to Fairview Hospital.
One was admitted into the intensive care unit because of needed surgery.
A six-month-old boy and three-year-old boy are among the victims.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
About $60,000 dollars damage was done. Investigators are checking to see if the unit in question had working smoke detectors.
