Two new eagle eggs in Avon Lake nest

Redwood Elementary eagle's nest with two eggs.

(Avon Lake) - Students are excited at Redwood Elementary School.

The mother eagle that lives with her mate in their nest near the school has laid a second egg. The first one was discovered in the nest earlier this week.

The eagles have made the area their home since 2015, and the school has a live camera trained on the nest which can be viewed on YouTube.

Redwood principal T. J. Ebert says his students are excited and look forward to naming the new eaglet when it hatches in about a month.

There are only about a couple of hundred estimated eagle pairs in Ohio.
