GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Almost two weeks ago Lonnie Chisenhall joked with reporters that the Indians were "getting the band back together" when the club signed veteran outfielder Rajai Davis to a Minor League contract with an invite to big league spring training camp. Turns out, Chisenhall may be right again.

Tuesday morning the Indians agreed to a Minor League contract with an invite to big league camp with veteran slugger Mike Napoli. The 1B/DH, along with Davis, also played a big role in the Tribe's success in 2016 when they went to the World Series.

Napoli, along with plenty of other free agents, had been working out in Bradenton, Fla.

On Tuesday, Indians manager Terry Francona admitted that the club may simply be bringing him to camp to get him prepared for the 2018 season to play with another team, but that it's a unique opportunity for Napoli and the club.

The Indians are back in action for Cactus League exhibition play Tuesday at Goodyear Ballpark when they host the Oakland Athletics at 3:05 pm ET.
