ROCKY RIVER, OH - Here are items from the Rocky River police blotter:

  • On 01/23/2018 at about 9:00 AM, a Story Rd. resident reported that his vehicle had been rummaged through overnight. Missing were two cigars.
  • On 01/23/2018 at about 10:00 AM, a Fairhill Dr. resident reported his van was gone through overnight; nothing was missing.
  • On 01/23/2018 at about 10:55 AM, a Westhampton resident reported someone unsuccessfully attempted to enter the home sometime between 01/18 and 01/22/2018.
  • On 01/23/2018 at about 1:30 PM an officer stopped a car with a license plate that didn't list to the type of car it was displayed on. The plate was also determined to have been altered. The driver had a suspended driver's license. The vehicle was impounded and the owner cited.
  • On 01/23/2018 at about 5:35 PM, a Story Rd. resident reported her car had been gone through the previous night. A GPS and loose change were taken, and a cigar was left behind.
  • On 01/23/2018 at about 10:45 PM, a car was stopped for a red light violation on Wooster Rd. The officer located marijuana in the car. The driver was cited for Possession of Marijuana and warned for the red light violation.
  • On 01/24/2018 at about 9:50 AM a vehicle was stopped on Interstate 90 for speeding. The officer located marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in the car. The driver was cited for Speed, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.
  • On 01/26/2018 at about 8:20 AM a Hilliard Blvd. resident reported that a former tenant of his apartment attempted to enter the unit using his old keys. The current tenant was able to get the keys back, but the former tenant left prior to police arrival. The subject has been identified and police are investigating to determine if any charges are warranted.
  • On 01/27/2018 at about 2:35 AM a Battersea Blvd resident reported hearing a crash. Police located a car on the Marion Ramp that had lost control and crashed. The driver was transported to hospital for sustained injuries and cited for drunk driving.
  • On 01/29/2018 at about 8:00 PM the manager of a Center Ridge Rd. retail store reported a newly hired employee left the store with merchandise that wasn't paid for. A theft complaint was signed and a warrant will be obtained.
