Greater Cleveland's Best Honored

(Cleveland) - The 18th Annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards were held Wednesday night at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland.  

The Male High School Player of the Year was awarded to Wadsworth High School Quarterback Joey Baughman.  

The Female High School Player of the Year went to Shannon Williams, volleyball player for Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.  

The Male College Athlete of the Year was awarded to Reggie Jagers of Solon, track and field standout at Kent State University.  

The Female College Athlete of the Year was awarded to Hallie Thome, of Chagrin Falls, basketball player at the University of Michigan.  

The Professional Athlete of the Year went to Tribe ace Corey Kluber.  Samer Babi, fiootball player at North Olmsted High School won the Courage Award while Cleveland Cavaliers legend Zydrunas Ilgauskas won the Lifetime Achievement Award.  

The Cleveland Indians 22 game win streak won Best Moment of the Year.  ESPN Correspondent Tom Rinaldi hosted the awards banquet before 1,300 people inside the grand ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel.
