Mentally Challenged Man Dead From Gunshot To Head

CLEVELAND- Cleveland Police say a developmentally challenged 18 year old man is dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers responded to 65th and Kenyon at 3:30 Sunday morning, for a male down with some type of head trauma.  EMS arrived and took the man to Metro Health Medical Center where it was determined he had suffered a gunshot wound.  

He was later pronounced deceased.

On the scene it was learned that the victim had just gotten off of work at a nearby Rally's and that he also worked shoveling snow. A shovel was recovered at the scene. 

According to the Cleveland Police Department, the victim was reportedly developmentally delayed/mentally challenged and resided in a nearby group home.  

Members of the Homicide Unit along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office responded to the scene for investigation.
