  1.  At least 6 people are confirmed dead and at least 77 people were taken to hospitals after an Amtrak derailed Monday outside of Seattle. Thirteen cars including two engines jumped the track. At least 77 people have been taken to local hospitals. Amtrak says the derailed Cascades Train 501 running from Seattle to Portland was carrying approximately 78 passengers and five crew members. What are your thoughts on the latest news this morning?

President Trump tweeted about our infrastructure after the Amtrak derailment. “The train accident that just occurred in DuPont, WA shows more than ever why our soon to be submitted infrastructure plan must be approved quickly. Seven trillion dollars spent in the Middle East while our roads, bridges, tunnels, railways and more crumble! Not for long!” Do you agree that we need to spend money fixing up the United States infrastructure?

  5.  Reports are the Pentagon ran a secret operation that's sole purpose was the investigation of UFO sightings by military aircraft. The $22 million dollar program was the brainchild of former Nevada senator Harry Reid. In videos that were released, U.S. fighter Jets could be seen tracking what is believed to be a UFO and even commenting on its erratic and seemingly impossible movements. Was the $22 million well spent?
  6. Twitter has introduced new rules against what it deems as hateful and harmful behavior. The company says those who express an affiliation with hate groups that use or celebrate violence to achieve their aims will be permanently banned. Twitter will also expand their ban on violent threats to include content that glorifies violence but government entities are exempt from this policy. Do you think other social media companies will follow Twitter’s lead?
  7. The French government will ban students from using mobile phones in the country’s primary, junior and middle schools at the start of the next school year. Reports say that children will be allowed to bring their phones to school, however they will not allowed to use them until they leave, even during breaks. The French education minister said the ban was also a “public health message to families”, adding: “It’s good that children are not too often, or even at all, in front of a screen before the age of seven.” Do you agree with the French government's efforts?
  8. The list of top baby names are out for 2017 and topping the list for girls is Olivia followed by Cora, Amelia, Charlotte, Isla, Isabella, Maia, Aurora, Amara and Ava. The number one name for boys is Atticus followed by Asher, Jack, Theodore, Jasper, Milo, Oliver, Silas, Henry and Wyatt. Mike and John don’t make the top ten. What do you think about Oliva and Atticus being the top baby names?
  9. In what is being hailed as one of the great finds in recent years, scientists in Egypt have discovered a hidden chamber inside Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza. The discovery was made using cosmic-ray based imaging, which shows how modern particle physics can reveal new information about ancient structures. The Great Pyramid was built during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu who reigned from 2509 to 2483 B.C. Archaeologists are still unsure how the Great Pyramid, which is 14 stories tall, was built. How could the pyramids have been built 4,500 years ago when human construction technology did not exist? Did an advance race of aliens build it?
  10. A young woman has raised more than $300,000 for a homeless man who, she said, spent his last $20 to buy her gas after she became stranded on a major interstate. On GoFundMe, Kate McClure, 27, wrote that she pulled off an exit ramp on I-95 near Philadelphia late one night when she realized her car was running out of gas. McClure posted, “Johnny sits on the side of the road every day, holding a sign. He saw me pull over and knew something was wrong, He told me to get back in the car and lock the doors.
