How about a doggie for Christmas?

John Baird and Barley the City Dog

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland City Kennel is offering reduced adoption fees for the Christmas season. The kennel is open for adoptions from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM through the weekend.

Adoption fees during this time will be reduced to $40, which will include, spay and neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and a dog license.

Animal control officer John Baird says, “We currently have 95 great dogs available for adoption, that are looking for a good home, and a Christmas present of a new family.”

Walk-ins are welcome or to schedule a meet and greet, contact the kennel at citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us or 216-664-3476.

The kennel is located at 2690 West 7th Street and has regular public hours of 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM through the weekend.

It's all part of the City Dogs program of The City of Cleveland’s Division of Animal Care and Control.

City Dogs mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be.
