(Cleveland)- While nothing beats the look and smell of a live Christmas tree in your home during the holiday season, it also comes with the possibility of unwanted company - bugs, spiders and other insects. It is estimated that there are roughly 25,000 creatures from mites to spiders that reside in each live Christmas tree. “The good news is that typically these critters are not harmful,” says Dale Hodgson from Rose Pest Solutions in Ohio.  But they can be a nuisance.  He says there are some tell-tale signs to check for when buying tree like nests or cocoons.  He also says ask the tree farm to use their shaker which may cause the tree to lose some needles, but also some unwanted guests as well.  And, he says--keep it in the garage for a few days when you bring it home.
