Local Students Step Up To Help The Needy

(Parma) - Students at Padua Franciscan High School in Parma took part, Tuesday, in their annual 'Christmas For Others Coin Wars' fundraiser.

Students from each class plus faculty donated loose change to the effort with hopes of raising more than the $14,000 raised last Christmas season.

All money raised goes to benefit local charities.  Some of the agencies set to benefit from the effort include Habitat For Humanity, the Salvation Army, Coats For Kids and local food pantries.

The event at Padua has been a tradition since 1971, generating more than $500,000 since its' inception.
