(Fairview Park) - The State Fire Marshal will be looking for the cause of a house fire in which an older woman was trapped inside, and who died after firefighters got her out.
The fire in the house on Parkview Lane in Fairview Park, off West 220th Street, broke out about 5:30 Thursday morning. Firefighers from Fairview Park, Lakewood, and Westlake encountered flames and heavy smoke.
A woman in her 80s was rescued from the kitchen, and was taken to Fairview Hospital, where she later died. Two cats and a dog also died.
