Investigators announce arrest in Pleskovic case

(Cuyahoga County) - There is an arrest in the murder of Strongsville teacher Melinda Pleskovic. 

Police Chief Mark Fender announced today that Jeffrey Scullin Jr. was taken into custody and booked on $1 million dollars bond. 

The 20 year old was engaged to be married to Pleskovic's daughter. 

Fender declined to go into details, and did not take questions during an afternoon press conference. 

The sixth grade teacher, was found dead at her Blazing Star Drive home just over a week ago. 

According the Cuyahoga Medical Examiner, Pleskovic died from gunshot and stab wounds.

Husband Bruce Pleskovic had called 911 saying he and Scullin found Melinda on the floor inside the home, and cited recent break-ins to his home.  

Fender says Scullin, lived at the home with the Pleskovics, and also called 911. 

Scullin is charged with aggravated murder, and his case is being reviewed by the Cuyahoga County prosecutor. Police are asking the public to call with any additional information about the case.
