CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers will trade Richard Jefferson and Kay Felder to the Atlanta Hawks just four days before the 2017-2018 regular season tips off. The news was first broken by Adrian Wojnarowski, a national basketball writer for ESPN.
The Cavs will also send two second-round draft picks and at least $3 million in cash to the Hawks to finalize the deal. The Hawks will send European draft rights to Cleveland in the deal according to Wojnarowski.
This deal now puts the Cavaliers roster at 15 players for opening night on Tuesday, Oct. 17 when Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics come to Cleveland to tip off the regular season.
