Man Crashes Into Patrol Car, Attacks 3 Officers

Cleveland police

CLEVELAND - Three Cleveland police officers have been treated for minor injuries after their patrol car was smashed into by 33-year-old Michael Williams.

According to police, Williams was driving a 1995 Chevy pickup truck on Euclid Avenue, westbound, when his vehicle ran into the police cruiser that was parked across the westbound lanes, with its emergency lights on, to block Wickford Road for a previous crash.

Williams truck hit the passenger side of the patrol car and caused both vehicles to rotate and smack together again.

According to police, after the collision, Williams got out of the truck and appeared to be intoxicated.  He then became combative with two other officers at the scene, resisting arrest.

One officer was inside the patrol car at the time and was taken to University Hospital before she was released with a concussion.
