Cops fired upon in Cleveland's Tremont area

Cleveland Police

(Cleveland) - Just after today's Indians-Yankees game started downtown, traffic was shut down in parts of Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood, including along West 25th Street, Columbus Road and Willey Avenue.

Shots were apparently fired at Cleveland officers, no one was injured or wounded.

Officers called for the Swat Team and a helicopter unit. A suspect was traced to railroad tracks in the area. Police Chief Calvin Williams was on scene to observe the investigation.

There is speculation the incident may have been the result of road rage.
