Reward offered in the Wellington fires

(Lorain County) - The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau is asking for tips from the public regarding three intentionally set fires in Wellington. 

All three fires occurred within a four-block radius between 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 into Sunday, Sept. 17. 

Fires were set to a home on 138 Forest Street, a police building at 110 Kelly Street and a commercial complex at 221-225 N. Main St. 

The investigation is being conducted jointly with the Marshal’s office, the Wellington Fire Department and Wellington Police Department. 

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fire.
