(Brunswick) – The Brunswick Police Department needs a second K-9 officer, so a citizens group has turned to social media to help raise the money.
The Brunswick Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association has created a gofundme account to help cover the cost of a new four-legged police officer, one that will supplement the current K-9 officer, Nico, a Belgian Malinois.
The Association’s Dan Sutliff says they kicked around some ideas, and decided to go “21st Century” by asking for $5,000 through social media. Local businesses will also be solicited.
