(PARMA) - The Parma School District is shutting down outdoor activities during Monday's solar eclipse. School leaders sent a letter home with students yesterday warning of the dangers of looking at the sun without taking safety measures. The partial eclipse will be visible on Monday from 1:06 p.m. to 3:51 p.m. The peak is expected at 2:30 p.m.
Monday's solar eclipse also means a day off from school for students in Jefferson. The superintendent of Jefferson Area Local Schools decided to cancel classes over concerns that students might damage their eyes by inadvertently looking at the eclipse.
