Jake Westbrook stood out as a veteran pitcher on the trading block, a right-handed arm with an American League All-Star selection, three playoff starts and a ground ball rate upward of 50% for nearly every year of his big league career.

Corey Kluber was quite the opposite as a fourth-round pick (134th overall) out of Stetson University in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He profiled as a hard-thrower with erratic command (4.09 BB/9 in 2009) and intriguing strikeout abilities (9.29 K/9 in 2009).
