(Lake County) - The Willowick Police Department responded to a report of possible human remains that had washed ashore near the east end of the City.
Once on scene, officers were able to confirm that the remains were in fact human, however, due to the state of decomposition, race and gender remain unknown.
The Lake County Coroner's Office responded to the scene as well.
The remains were eventually transferred to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for further testing, and identification.
