Same Man Suspected In Multiple Murders in Stark Co. & N. Royalton

George Brinkman

(Canton and North Royalton) - A man arrested early Tuesday morning after an overnight standoff at a house in Brunswick is now a suspect in two multiple murders in two other counties in Northeast Ohio.

Stark County Sheriff George Maier says that George Brinkman, Jr. has been charged with two counts of murder in the shooting deaths of Rogell John II, and his wife, Roberta John.  The couple was found murdered Monday night in their house in Lake Township, north of Canton.

Brinkman is also a person of interest in the deaths of Suzanne Taylor, and her daughters Kylie and Taylor Pifer, whose bodies were found Sunday night in their home on Ridge Road in North Royalton.

Sheriff Maier says Brinkman was employed by the Johns, and was house sitting for them.  He also at one time dated the couple's daughter.

The sheriff says once they learned of the murders of the Lake Township couple, they began comparing notes with North Royalton Police.

Brinkman was arrested after holding police at bay from inside a house in Brunswick from Monday night until almost sunrise on Tuesday.  He gave up after police used a taser on him.
