Recent Chardon High grad killed in accident

CHARDON, OH - Counselors will be hand at Chardon High School Wednesday after two recent graduates were involved in a car accident Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports from our news partners, one of the men was killed and another seriously injured after the car they were in was hit by a truck around noon Tuesday on Route 44 in Chardon Township. Police say the driver of the car didn't stop at a stop sign and the commercial truck ran into it.

In a statement posted on the district's website, Superintendent Michael Hanlon said, "The thoughts and prayers of all of us at Chardon Schools are with the families of these two outstanding young men during this difficult time. Our entire school community will continue to support the families, and each other, in coping with this terrible tragedy. Now, more than ever we call on the core value of Community, that has become a cornerstone of Chardon High School."
