(Silver Lake, OH) -- Silver Lake officials are moving forward with plans to thin the village's deer population. Village Council members are working on an ordinance allowing bow hunters to kill deer in the Van Sise Nature Reserve off Kent Road. Supporters of the culling plan say the deer are becoming more aggressive, causing problems for drivers and eating residents' plants and flowers. Critics say there are other nonlethal means to control the deer population.
