Sparks-Henderson sentenced for killing five

Cleveland - Five consecutive life sentences without parole. That is the sentence for 21 year old James Sparks-Henderson, Wednesday afternoon for killing five family members on Cleveland's east side in 2014. Sparks-Henderson pleaded guilty, which saved him from the death penalty.

Before today's sentencing in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas court, a victim's family member tried to attack Sparks-Henderson, delaying court proceedings.

The victims were Lemon S. Bryant, 60; Sherita Johnson, 41: Ja’Rio Taylor, 19; and Shaylona Williams, 17. Johnson was seven months pregnant at the time of the shooting. Her 9-year-old daughter was also shot, but survived, and her 2-year-old son was unharmed.
