Man Shot Dead By Cleveland Police

(Cleveland) - Cleveland Police continue their investigation into a police-involved shooting in which a man shot by police has died.

Sunday night, police were called out to 3801 Mapledale for a report of a man threatening with a gun.  Police went to the home's back yard, where they found suspect Jeffrey James Findlay, along with a woman police said Findlay was threatening with a handgun.

Police told Findlay a number of times to put down the gun, but he didn't.  That's when police say they shot Findlay, who was pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Cleveland Police say Findlay and the woman had recently broken up, and that Findlay had come to the woman's house, and that's when a neighbor and the woman fled from Findlay and called police.

The Cleveland Police Use of Deadly Force Investigation Team is looking into the shooting.  The five officers involved are all on administrative leave, and the case will be reviewed by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.
