Kasich: Ohio is Stable & Strong

(Sandusky, OH) - Governor John Kasich says Ohio is stable and strong, but gains over the past year would evaporate without teamwork and risk-taking.

The governor encouraged Ohioans to come together for the good of all Tuesday night during his State of the State address in Sandusky. Kasich asked the crowd of state lawmakers and office holders to cross political lines to create more jobs, fight the state's opiate crisis and encourage innovation.

The governor's accomplishments in office were used as examples of risk taking that paid off, including Medicaid expansion, privatized economic development efforts and welfare reform. He's pushing government leaders to take new leaps this year by reforming municipal tax codes and working with educators to prepare students for 21st century jobs.

Kasich says Ohio is on the cutting edge of new technologies and only a fear of change can prevent the Buckeye State from being a leader in autonomous vehicles, unmanned aircraft and information technology.
