GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- When it was over, Terry Francona said it was the type of game where he was glad it is just spring training. Sloppy defense by the Cleveland Indians and the Seattle Mariners' offense exploding during a 7-4 victory will do that to a manager.
Trevor Bauer made his 2017 debut and other Tribe bullpen contenders struggled while the Mariners banged out 11 hits and seven runs in a game that dropped the Indians Cactus League record to 2-2-1 on the spring.
The Mariners improved to 4-1 this spring training and got a base-hit from Robinson Cano off Bauer in the first inning.
The Indians return back to Cactus League action on Thursday when they travel to Glendale to face Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch. First pitch is set for 3:05 pm ET.
