(Euclid) - A legendary local retailer is preparing to close its doors for good. B&B Appliance has been in business since 1924, but is now going out of business with a big liquidation sale.
Within two months their Euclid and Middleburg Heights stores will only be memories.
President Jeff Blumenthal tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, family owned appliance stories like his are seeing their profits squeezed by the big manufacturers, who are now deciding what the price of their products will be, not taking into account retailer's expenses.
Blumenthal says, under current conditions they can no longer make a profit. Blumenthal adds, they made the decision to end operations rather than continue to fight, so that they can take care of their remaining customers and many employees, some who have been with the company for 30 years.
