Indians improve to 2-0-1 this spring, top Rangers

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Carlos Carrasco admitted he felt weird making his 2017 Cactus League exhibition debut on Monday at Goodyear Ballpark after missing the end of last season with a broken finger. The right-hander is feeling great though and ready to be back in the Tribe's talented starting rotation.

The Indians came back to beat the Texas Rangers on Monday afternoon 3-2, improving to 2-0-1 on the Cactus League season. Carrasco did make one mistake, a 2-run homer to Nomar Mazara that actually appeared to go foul but was ruled a homer.

Carrasco was smooth sailing after the one mistake.

Offensively the Indians were paced by Franciso Lindor and Chris Colabello, each who delivered clutch RBIs.

Mike Napoli did not make the trip for Texas.

Amherst native Ryan Rua hit third for the Rangers and played left field.

The Indians are back in action on Tuesday in Mesa when they play the Oakland Athletics. First pitch is set for 3:05 pm ET.
