(Westlake) – It’s a case of champagne wishes and caviar dreams, without the caviar. Westlake Police are looking for the man who has stolen champagne, by stashing the bottles in his pants.
Westlake Police Captain Guy Turner says that on December 27, the man in these surveillance photos walked into the liquor agency at the Giant Eagle at The Promenade, took four bottles of champagne worth $240, shoved them into his pants, and left the store.
Turner says the same man came back about three weeks later, but didn’t get away with any champagne, as it had been moved out of reach. It’s believed the same man also tried to steal alcoholic beverages from liquor agencies at other Giant Eagle stores.
In each case, the champagne drinker was driven to the store in a green Chrysler 300.
Anyone with information about the man should call Westlake Police at 440-871-3311.
