CDC: Overdose Deaths Spiked During The Pandemic

New CDC data shows drug overdose deaths in the country have hit a record high.

Over 100-thousand people died over a 12 month period ending April 2021, a nearly 30 percent increase from the year before. Opioids are still the main cause of overdose death.

Experts say the COVID-19 pandemic and rise in fentanyl use were main contributors. A big concern is how much fentanyl has been since many people don’t even know they are using fentanyl.
