CINCINNATI--Before the bottom of the seventh inning, Shane Bieber had another outstanding stat line while only giving up two runs but the offense continued to struggle with only one hit. Then Cesar Hernandez' infield single and a Jose Ramirez walk with the bases loaded in the seventh tied the game. Then DH Franmil Reyes who has struggled offensive got the go-ahead homer in the eighth to put the Tribe up for good 4-2. Brad Hand had his third save and the Indians (6-6) defeat the Reds (5-6) 4-2.

Reyes said during postgame they had to keep fighting and perhaps this one hit did something good for his team.

Reds starter Tyler Mahle pitched six innings with six strikeouts and only giving up one run. The Reds led 2-0 after four innings thanks to two team solo homers (Castellanos and Suarez).

But the Indians were able to get the win. Shane Bieber takes the win (3-0), Nate Jones who gave up the Reyes homer takes the loss (0-1) and Brad Hand earns a save (3).

Below are some postgame thoughts from the Tribe.

These two teams will play their next two games in Cleveland. RHP Mike Clevinger (0-1) will start Wednesday night for the Tribe. The Reds will start RHP Tejay Antone for the first time as Antone makes his first major league start.
