CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago White Sox rookie Dylan Cease was scheduled to start against the visiting Cleveland Indians before being pulled out of the lineup leading up to the game due to an apparent groin injury. White Sox skipper Rick Renteria made the last minute decision to go with a bullpen game, and the decision payed off. The Chicago bullpen held the tribe to four total hits in a 8-0 shutout victory, as the Indians playoff chances grow slimmer.

Indians starter Aaron Civale was solid through his first three innings, before giving up a huge four-run inning in the 4th. McCann cleared the bases with a three-run homer to left field, before Palka launched a second consecutive home run to right center field. Carlos Carrasco relieved Civale following the back-to-back jacks, and went 1 1/3 innings while giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits.

The Cleveland Indians will travel to the nation's capital to take on the Washington Nationals in the final series of the regular season. Tribe rookie starter Zach Plesac will matchup against Nationals starter Austin Voth. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm ET at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. on Friday evening.
