CLEVELAND--It was perhaps the most important catch of the year. Oscar Mercado sprinted and extended his arms to catch the game (& maybe season) saving play.

With the bases loaded, the Nick Wittgren records his fourth save of the season and so far his most important as the Indians survived late 8-6. The Indians led 8-2 after seven innings but the White Sox stormed back late.

Shane Bieber (13-7) had a strong outing with nine strikeouts, 114 pitches in seven innings. After an early White Sox 2-1 lead, the Indians offense was rolling. Ivan Nova (9-11) gave up six runs in four innings of action for the White Sox.

Abreu connected with a two run homer in the eighth.

Then in the ninth, Anderson bang a homer against Brad Hand to close the gap to two.

But Oscar Mercado made a big time catch in the ninth. Mercado talked to Andre Knott after the game. Mercado saw his catch on the scoreboard!
