Oscar with a Two-Piece, Indians Beat Tigers 8-6

CLEVELAND--In July, Oscar Mercado was 1 for 25. Tonight, he had his first multi homer game in the majors as he had two homers and two hits which helped the Indians defeat the Tigers 8-6 on Monday night.

Below is the game summary as told by Twitter!

We interrupt this Twitter recap with a rain delay and.....Area 51?!

Say what?!

If the Tigers had it their way, the end would've ended during the delay. Instead...

Nick Wittgren (4-0) got the decision with his work in the seventh with two on. The Indians never looked back with Mercado's second homer and Jose Ramirez who had a two run double to wrap up the game. Victor Alcantara (3-2) takes the loss.

More details of this game and what it means can be found on my Xtra Innings Postgame show including my thoughts on Detroit's most dangerous bullpen pitch Trevor Rosenthal.

Indians will start RHP Zach Plesac (3-3, 4.00) against LHP Ryan Carpenter Tuesday night in game two of this four game series.
