Tribe Fall to Texas Rangers 7-3

Cleveland fell to Texas by a score of 7-3 this afternoon on the road at Surprise Stadium.

C ERIC HAASE drove in a pair of runs with a 1st-inning single, while CF TRAYCE THOMPSON connected for his second home run of the spring off Rangers southpaw Drew Smyly - a solo shot in the 3rd inning. Haase (.364, 8-22, 10 RBI) and Thompson (.308, 12-39, 8RBI) are both hitting above .300 for the spring, while RF JORDAN LUPLOW is 5-for-his-last-14 (.357) after collecting one of the Tribe's 10 hits.

RHP MIKE CLEVINGER logged 4.0 innings in his fourth Cactus League appearance/third start (4.0IP, 8H, 4R-3ER, 2BB, 4SO, HR). RHP ADAM CIMBER, LHP BRAD HAND and RHP JON EDWARDS each chipped in one scoreless inning of relief. Cimber lowered his Cactus League ERA to 0.90 over 11 games (10.0IP, 3R-1ER), while Edwards has not allowed a run across 9 appearances (8.2IP, 5H, 2BB, 10SO).

On Friday night, the Indians will host the Chicago Cubs for a 6:05 MST/9:05PM ET tilt at Goodyear Ballpark. RHP COREY KLUBER's third spring start will be televised on SportsTime Ohio and available via webcast on Indians.com.
