Violence continues to play out in the City of Chicago and what's even more concerning, police officers, many fed up with the job, are retiring in record numbers.
Chicago Alderman Anthony Beale says the C.P.D. is down 1,600 officers and, to make matters worse, the city only received about 5,000 applications for its' most recent police academy.
In previous years, the city received around 30,000 applications. Chicago employees nearly 12,000 police officers.
