A parent of a Marietta Schools football player was hauled away in handcuffs during an 8th grade football game Wednesday in Logan, Ohio. Why? The woman was not wearing a mask.
Alecia Kitts was sitting in the bleachers with her family and was approached by a school resource officer. The officer repeatedly ordered Kitts to put on her mask. She repeatedly defied the order claiming she has asthma.
A physical altercation between the mother and officer ensued and Kitts was tased before she was cuffed and taken into custody.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has mandated universal mask wearing at school sporting events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kitts was ultimately charged with criminal trespassing and released.
