The injury bug has hit the Cleveland Indians again in spring training. The team says right handed flame thrower Emmanuel Clase, who was acquired in the Corey Kluber trade with Texas, will miss 8 to 12 weeks of game activity.
Clase felt discomfort while throwing a bullpen session last week and then experienced additional discomfort on Tuesday.
An M-R-I has confirmed he has a strained teres muscle in his upper back. Clase will be re-evaluated weekly.
He joins starter Mike Clevinger on the shelf. Clevinger has surgery earlier this month to repair partially torn meniscus in his knee.
