Students taking the S-A-T college entrance exam could soon receive an 'adversity score.'
The College Board, which oversees the test, plans to introduce the score which takes into account a student's social and economic background.
The 'adversity score' would be calculated by using fifteen factors including the poverty level and crime rate from a student's high school and area in which they live.
Students will not be informed of their scores but colleges and universities will be aware of them when they look over applications.
