(Mentor) - An end of an era in high school football is coming in Mentor.
Longtime Mentor coach Steve Trivisonno has announced he will retire following the 2019 football season.
Coach Triv has led the Cardinals since 1997 and has racked up 196 wins, 18 playoff appearances, 4 regional titles and four state runners-up finishes during his tenure.
Coach Triv retired from teaching in 2015. He and his wife are both Mentor High graduates, as are both of their daughters.
The school will start the process to find Triv's successor following the upcoming season.
