Guradians Fall to Detroit, 4-2

CLEVELAND, OH-- Following a rain delay that pushed the start time to 2:00, the Guardians were able to get the final game of the series with the Detroit Tigers in. Shane Bieber and Alex Faedo were this afternoon's pitching match-up. The Tigers struck first with a line-drive RBI double from Miguel Cabrera to left field to score Robbie Grossman in the top of the first.

The Guardians were able to tie the game up at one in the bottom of the first when Owen Miller bounced an RBI single to center field to score Amed Rosario.

In the top of the second inning, Detroit's Dav Cameron extended the Tigers' lead to 2-1. He lined an RBI single to center field, and Jonathan Schoop scored.

After being out of the lineup due to COVID, Josh Naylor blasted a solo homer to center field in the bottom of the fourth and tied the game 2-2.

Detroit picked up another run in the top of the fifth due to an error from Josh Naylor at first base to lead 3-2.

The final run of the night came from Javier Baez with a solo home run to right-center field. The Tigers won the game with a final score of 4-2.

The Guardians will be back on the field tomorrow for the start of a three-game series in Houston with the first pitch at 8:10.
