CLEVELAND, OH--- The Detroit Tigers came to town for the first time of the year Friday night, and the Guardians took care of business. The big news of the game was seeing Jose Ramirez in the lineup after fouling a ball off his shin in yesterday's game, Jose didn't miss a beat tonight.

The game started as a pitcher's duel that went on through the first 5 innings which were scoreless. Tarik Skubal was on the mound for the Tigers, he went 5 innings giving up only 4 hits, no runs, and struck out 5 until he took a line drive to the shin, he would not return in the top of the 6th inning. Aaron Civale was on the mound for the Guardians, coming into tonight's game he's been struggling, but he had his best outing of the year going 6.1 innings giving up only 3 hits and striking out 3. In the top of the 6th was when things got interesting, Amed Rosario started things off by hitting an RBI to CF that scored Austin Hedges. Then who else but Jose Ramirez, hitting a 3-run Home Run that brought in Rosario and Myles Straw to score, this made the game 4-0 and gave Jose the MLB lead in RBI with 37, Jacob Barnes was the Detroit pitcher reliving Skubal. The Guardians were all over Barnes getting 4 straight hits off of him. In the top of the 7th, it was the Tigers striking when Spencer Torkelson hit a sacrifice fly to left field that brought in Javier Baez to score the only Tigers run of the game. Amed Rosario added to the fire in the bottom of the 8th when he hit an RBI double to score Myles Straw. He was then brought in to score on an Owen Miller SAC fly.

Tomorrow the Guardians hope to keep this momentum with Shane Bieber on the mound, first pitch is scheduled for 6:10 from Progressive Filed.
