In a rare night time meeting, the House Judiciary Committee began considering articles of impeachment against President Trump: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. "Two amorphous articles" said Republican Mike Johnson "that wouldn't even be admissible in your local traffic court."

Committee Chair Jerry Nadler saying if Congress can't remove a President for asking a foreign government to interfere in an election "Congress can not fulfill it's duty to act as a check and balance against the executive and the President becomes a dictator." Votes won't come until Thursday at the earliest, when the committee will consider amendments and likely hold a final vote to send the articles to the House floor.
