Christine Blake: President and CEO of Cardinal Credit Union

On August 8, 2010, the Board of Directors of Cardinal Credit Union, nominated Christine Blake as President and CEO. Cardinal, the not-for-profit financial cooperative was founded in 1953. Christine currently manages 85 employees. Cardinal has 12 branches that serve 30,000 members, spanning 9 northern Ohio counties, with assets in excess of $285 million.  

Christine is committed to financial literacy education in the communities Cardinal serves. For more than twelve years, Cardinal Credit Union has been teaching practical money management skills to students through hands-on coursework. The intent is to immerse students in a “culture of thrift”, putting sound money management skill into practice as they learn by doing in a controlled environment. Cardinal currently has five school-based branches.

Before joining Cardinal, Christine was as an Adjunct Professor at Lakeland Community College, and served as Senior Manager and CPA at KPMG. 

Christine is very active with financial industry groups: having served as Board President of the Ohio Credit Union League in 2017-2018. The Ohio Credit Union League is the state trade association for Ohio’s credit unions. The group is focused on political and regulatory advocacy, compliance and information services, educational and professional development opportunities.

Christine was honored with the 2019 “Game Changer” Award from FastTrack 50 committee. This award recognizes an individual, new product, company or event that presented a positive reflection of, or generated publicity for, Lake and or Geauga Counties.

She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Accounting, and received her MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.

Christine lives in Chagrin Falls with her husband and three children.
