Bob Ross Work From First TV Episode Hits The Auction Block

A piece of television history is on sale, and it’s going to be a happy little purchase for someone.

A signed painting made by Bob Ross for the first episode of “The Joy of Painting” is being sold by Modern Artifact in Minneapolis, Minnesota with an asking price of $9.85 million.

The painting, a 24-inch by 18-inch oil on canvas titled “A Walk in the Woods,” has had one owner…a person who was there when he painted it.

The painting is being described as the “most historically significant Bob Ross original painting ever created,” and it’s hard to argue with that.

And yes, there’s a happy little tree in the foreground.
