Cuyahoga County Council is honoring a local school bus driver credited with helping to save the lives of her passengers.

Last week, Monticello Middle School students avoided injury when they were evacuated from their burning school bus. Fifteen students were on board the vehicle when it caught fire in Cleveland Heights.

The bus driver, Dorian Pace, said he relied on his training to safely guide the students off the bus and away from danger.

Pace was honored by Cuyahoga County Council on Monday night.
