The Ohio State Buckeyes are national champions. Ohio State defeated Notre Dame 34-23 in the College Football Playoff National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Will Howard completed 17-of-21 pass attempts for 231 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 57 yards on the ground to help the Buckeyes record their first national title since the 2014 season. Quinshon Judkins had 121 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremiah Smith totaled five catches for 88 yards and a score. The Buckeyes have now claimed nine national championships in program history. Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard was 22-of-31 for 255 yards and two TDs in the losing effort. The dual-threat also rushed for 40 yards and another score. Jaden Greathouse finished with six receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. The Fighting Irish finish the season at 14-and-2.
