Wednesday’s loss to Morocco at the 2024 Olympics was only the latest setback for the members of Argentina’s soccer team, whose Paris quarters were reportedly looted while they were practicing on Tuesday.
"Yesterday, they entered our training and robbed us,” says coach Javier Mascherano. “Thiago Almada was missing a watch, rings, and everything at training at the Olympics. We didn't want to say anything after training." Other players were also missing items following the robbery, Mascherano adds.
The coach has offered no further details. It’s unclear if Paris police have been notified of the crime.
