The free iHeart app is where to go to listen to exclusive play-by-play action of Team USA. To celebrate, we are spotlighting some of the country's athletes that are vying for gold.

Nelly Korda, a 25-year-old professional golfer from Bradenton, Florida, has made a significant impact on the world of women's golf. Born into a family of athletes, with parents who were former Czech tennis professionals and siblings who are also professional athletes, Korda has been playing golf seriously since the age of six.

In 2016, Korda turned pro after being the world's top-ranked junior. She quickly made her mark by winning the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge on the LPGA Futures Tour, securing a LPGA Tour card for 2017. Her first LPGA Tour title came in 2018 at the LPGA Taiwan Championships, and she broke into the top 10 of the world rankings after winning the Australian Open in 2019.

Korda's career took off in 2021 when she won the Gainbridge LPGA, the Meijer LPGA Classic, and her first major triumph at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in Atlanta, which led her to become the world number one. She also won gold at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the Pelican Championship.

Despite a setback in 2022 due to a blood clot in her arm requiring surgery, Korda bounced back to win the LET's Aramco Team Series event in Sotogrande, Spain, and retained her Pelican title in November. She regained the number one ranking in 2023, despite a back injury that forced her to spend more time on the sidelines.

In 2024, Korda made history by winning five LPGA Tour titles in succession, becoming the first player since Lorena Ochoa in 2008 to win four consecutive events in as many starts. She also won the Chevron Championship to secure her second major title and join Annika Sorenstam (2004-05) and Nancy Lopez (1978) as the only players to win on five consecutive starts.
